7 Activities for your kids during the Umuzi Week of Festivals

Finding activities for kids over the holidays in Mpumalanga is a task dreaded by every parent, especially over the October school holidays.

Luckily the October school holidays and the Umuzi Week of Festivals are at the same time  to offer you a variety of activities to choose from.

Here is our list of 7 activities your kids can enjoy during the week of festivities to keep them busy.

1. AquaZone Springfest

A waterpark wonderland with 5 waterslides and indoor swimming pool.

Festival Packages:

  • Mid-week package, Monday to Thursday – R100 per person
  • Weekend Package, Friday to Sunday – R100 per person
  • Day rates – R50 per person under 1.35m and R80 per person thereafter
  • Friday, 6 October, a 6-16 party from 18:00-21:00 with DJ.

2. Rocky Waters Adventure Golf

An 18-lole miniature golf course for only R25 per person per round.

Normal rate is R35 per person per round

3. Carnival Square

Play in the biggest jungle gym in Africa for as long as you want for only R50 per child per day.

Only for children under 1.35m

4. Merry-go-round

19 different carnival rides to choose from. Open every day from 17:00 – 21:00. Tickets are R15 each.

5. Children’s theatre

Monday to Friday from 10:00 on Eish!!’s Deck. Educational productions and puppet shows will entertain the little ones from 2-12 years.

6. Children’s activities

Monday to Friday from 12:00 on Eish!!’s Deck. Toyville will facilitate fun, creative activities for children of all ages. Activities include a treasure hunt, Lego competition, art challenge and cake decorating.

7. Wyn-inni-tyn Babysitter.

Child care on Wyn-inni-tyn evenings, 3-5 October. From 17:00-22:00 children under the age of 8 can join the fun in Boesies chapel. Jumping castles, fun games and Tv with animation movies will entertain your little one while you listen to some of South Africa’s best Afrikaans musicians.

For only R100 per child for the evening including food, snacks and sweets.

Parents must please provide baby-sitters with diaper bag with all the necessities for babies under age of 1.
